Holiday Point: Where “Everyday is a Holiday”
In 1929, after the completion of Candlewood Lake, Connecticut Light & Power set aside the most scenic property on the north end of the lake – the area that is now Holiday Point – for the use of their company executives. By the summer of 1955, most of the homeowners no longer being CL&P employees, a formal association was created and control of the community was handed over to the newly elected officers.
Today Holiday Point is still a thriving and desirable community of about 70 homes with a beautiful private beach,
and picnic area with grills
that host many community social events throughout the year. Residents have been overheard saying “Everyday is a holiday when you live in Holiday Point”! Home prices range from $300,000-$700,000.
